Want to make a short film featuring
A Hawk and a Hacksaw's music?
ThinkSync Films is sponsoring a contest fusing together the sensibilities of indie music (specifically from small U.K. labels) and indie filmmaking. Entries are now being accepted for short films--no longer than ten minutes--which feature music from the tracks provided at their contest website. Among these tracks is
A Hawk and a Hacksaw's "God Bless the Ottoman Empire," from their recent CD
The Way the Wind Blows, on the Leaf Label. Five shorts will be chosen to be screened at a June event, where judges will pick one of the five to receive a prize of 1,000 U.K. pounds and free use of the Cacophany Music catalogue for their next production. All five finalists will receive free use of their selected tracks for their short film, as well as a selection of courses at the
Raindance Film School. The deadline is June 30, 2007. But wait, isn't the event going to be held in June? Maybe they meant July, I have no idea. You can discern all the fine details of the rules
here. Just remember that you must use music from their website for your entry.
