J. Kirk Pleasant's superb Calvin, Don't Jump!, noted for its acoustic strumming and incisive lyrics, is charting new territory with its future recordings. Writes Pleasant on his MySpace page:

I've decided to change the course of Calvin, Don't Jump! entirely. I'm buying an electric guitar, something I haven't owned or played in fifteen years. There will also be some new Calvin players added soon. These changes occur ten years after the origination of my moniker. My new songs will be recorded in a new way and will contain new sounds coming from a new laboratory of thinking. With the new players, new sound, and new energy, we will be playing shows around the Vancouver area, perhaps a small tour down the West Coast a bit, but prepare yourselves gentle people, for the looming cacophany awaits!!! As the sun sets slowly on the straits of Georgia, I bid you all adieu.

Personally, I find this pretty exciting news, as Kirk Pleasant can get pretty rocking when he tries. Meanwhile, you can purchase all his old material, including last year's completely-acoustic Conscious of Conscience, by contacting Kirk directly.
