Derek Almstead reports on his
MySpace page that during Friday night's
Elf Power/Instruments show at Chicago's Subterranean, their van's window was broken, and bags of clothes belonging to Derek and Heather McIntosh were stolen. (It sounds like this happened while they were performing; so luckily, his laptop and their instruments were safely inside the club.) They're proceeding with the tour, but here's extra incentive to go out and see them--I'm sure that financially they could use your support. Plus they've got great merch for sale, including an
Elf Power tour-only CD (see my
review), the new
Instruments CD, new tee shirts and handbags, and LPs of
Back to the Web and
Vainly Clutching at Phantom Limbs.
(In other news, Derek reports that there's a chance
M Coast will be touring with
Elf Power in late summer/early fall. And one of Derek's many bands,
63 Crayons, has recently completed their new record, and uploaded songs on their
MySpace page.)
